Lake District road to close for three weeks for resurfacing

Repairs are starting on two stretches of the A591, between Bassenthwaite and Keswick, on Monday, November 24. The work is being carried out in phases by contractors on behalf of Cumberland Council.
Closure schedule:

Nov 24 – Dec 2: A591 near Skiddaw Service Station, Bassenthwaite
Dec 3 – Dec 12: A591 at Millbeck

The work will run daily from 7:30am to 7pm, depending on weather conditions.
Access rules:

No vehicles allowed in work zones during working hours
Emergency services, pedestrians, and walkers with bikes can pass
Residents may face delays but traffic marshals will assist
Bin collections will continue when safe
