Knock Out Cup Second Round Completed In West Cumbria Mixed Triples League

08 Jul 2026 Knock Out Cup Second Round Completed In West Cumbria Mixed Triples League

Three of the four scheduled Knock Out Cup second round ties in the West Cumbria Mixed Triples League have now been completed, producing several impressive performances as clubs battled for places in the next round of the competition.

In the matches that went ahead, Whitehaven B secured a 6 to 3 victory over Seascale, while Croft claimed an impressive 7 to 2 win against local rivals Harris Park A in a closely watched town derby. Whitehaven A also enjoyed a convincing performance, defeating last year's Knock Out Cup champions Wigton by 7 to 2 to book their place in the next round.

League action also continued with a previously postponed fixture between Workington B and Seaton finally taking place. The match, originally scheduled for May 19, ended in a 6 to 3 victory for Workington B, helping the club strengthen its position in the league standings.

In the West Cumbria Fours League, sponsored by Whitehaven Trophies, Whitehaven A climbed to the top of the table following a dominant 7 to 0 victory over Vulcan Park. Their rise to first place was helped by the postponement of the fixture between Fitz Park and Workington A, leaving Whitehaven A with a narrow advantage at the summit

Elsewhere in the Fours League, Seaton produced another commanding 7 to 0 win against Whitehaven B, Cleator Moor edged Workington B by 4 to 3, and Maryport also secured a hard fought 4 to 3 victory over Harris Park in one of the closest contests of the evening.

With both league and cup competitions continuing to gather momentum, clubs across West Cumbria are preparing for another busy period of fixtures. Supporters can expect more competitive bowling as teams battle for silverware and valuable league points during the remainder of the season.
