KENDAL IT FIRM CHOOSES FRIENDS OF THE LAKE DISTRICT AS CHARITY OF THE YEAR
A Kendal based IT company has announced Friends of the Lake District as its Charity of the Year, with employees set to support the charity through fundraising, volunteering and hands on conservation projects across Cumbria.
The partnership will see staff from Itek work alongside Friends of the Lake District over the coming year, taking part in a range of environmental initiatives designed to protect and enhance the county's natural landscapes. The programme reflects the company's commitment to supporting local communities while contributing to the long term care of one of the UK's most celebrated rural environments.
As part of the initiative, employees will participate in practical conservation work including hedge planting, woodland restoration and dry stone walling. These activities are intended to help preserve important habitats, improve biodiversity and maintain traditional countryside features that form an integral part of Cumbria's landscape.
The first major fundraising event is scheduled for 12 September, when members of the team will take on the challenging Born Survivor obstacle course. Organisers hope the event will raise valuable funds while encouraging wider community support for the charity's environmental work.
