‘Hostile’ Intoxicated Man Spat at Police Officer in Barrow, Court Hears
A man described as “hostile” and heavily intoxicated spat at a police officer during an incident in Barrow, a court has heard.
Aaron Jordan appeared before South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court, where he was sentenced for assaulting a police officer and criminal damage following the incident.
The court was told that Jordan became aggressive while under the influence, with his behaviour escalating to the point where he spat at an officer carrying out their duties.
Magistrates condemned the actions, highlighting the seriousness of assaulting emergency workers and the risks officers face while dealing with intoxicated individuals.
Jordan was sentenced accordingly, with the court making clear that such behavior will not be tolerated.
