Hate Symbols Vandalise School Yurt in West Cumbria
A police investigation has been launched after hate symbols were found drawn on a yurt at a primary school in West Cumbria.
According to Cumbria Police, the incident took place at Distington Infants School between April 8 and April 24. During that period, offenders reportedly broke into the school’s yurt and caused damage to property inside the structure.
Officers said symbols associated with hate were painted several times around the yurt, raising concerns among school staff and the local community.
Police are appealing to the public for information that could help identify those responsible. Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity or has relevant information has been urged to contact Cumbria Police by calling 101 and quoting reference number CP-20260424-0156. Information can also be shared anonymously through Crimestoppers.
The investigation remains ongoing.
