Four Cumbrian hotels named in Top 50 Boutique Hotels of 2025

Four hotels in Cumbria have secured places in the Top 50 Boutique Hotels list for the UK, a prestigious ranking celebrating properties known for exceptional service, standout atmosphere, strong identity and innovative food experiences. Selected by industry leaders, hotel operators, travel writers and influencers, the list is considered one of the most respected awards in the hospitality sector.
The highest-ranking Cumbrian entry was the Gilpin Hotel and Lake House in Windermere, taking sixth place. Another Place, The Lake at Ullswater, followed close behind in ninth. Farlam Hall near Brampton was placed 11th, with chef patron Hrishikesh Desai saying the recognition reflects the team’s commitment to creating meaningful and memorable guest experiences across dining, accommodation and wellness.
Forest Side in Grasmere also made the list, securing the 43rd spot.
