Four Arrested and 29 Drivers Caught Speeding in Cumbria Police Road Safety Operation

24 Apr 2026 Four Arrested and 29 Drivers Caught Speeding in Cumbria Police Road Safety Operation

Four people have been arrested and 29 drivers caught speeding during a recent police road safety operation carried out across Cumbria.

The enforcement activity was part of ongoing efforts by Cumbria Police to tackle dangerous driving and improve safety on the region’s roads. Officers focused on identifying offences such as speeding, driving under the influence, and other traffic violations.

During the operation, police stopped and dealt with multiple motorists, resulting in four arrests linked to various driving-related offences. In addition, 29 drivers were found exceeding speed limits and were dealt with through enforcement action.

Authorities say such operations are designed to reduce road casualties and encourage safer driving habits, particularly on routes where collisions and speeding have previously been recorded.

Cumbria Police have confirmed that further targeted operations will continue in the coming weeks as part of their wider road safety strategy.
