Estate Agency Expands Lettings Team With Two New Property Managers
C&D Rural has strengthened its lettings team with the appointment of two new property managers as the estate agency prepares to expand its residential portfolio.
Joanne Birkett and Morgyn Vevers have joined the business as it looks to grow its residential property services across Cumbria, Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Borders. Their appointments are intended to provide additional support as the firm's lettings operation develops.
Birkett brings several years of experience from the property development and lettings sector. During her previous career, she progressed to a senior position with a local housing association, giving her experience across the housing and property management environment.
Vevers also brings experience from the housing sector, alongside previous work in financial services. Her background includes working within the mortgage sector, providing her with an understanding of the financial considerations that can form part of residential property transactions.
The appointments will add further capacity to the estate agency's existing lettings operation. The expanded team will support landlords and tenants while helping manage properties throughout the various stages of the letting process.
Head of lettings Sarah Gemmell said the two appointments would help develop the services already provided by the business. She also welcomed both new members to the team and said they had settled into their roles well.
Gemmell said expanding the support team would place the business in a stronger position to assist landlords and tenants. She highlighted the importance of making the letting process as straightforward as possible as the company's portfolio continues to grow.
Birkett said she was pleased to have joined the family run business and pointed to its reputation for providing friendly and tailored services to people in the local area. She said the variety and challenges involved in estate agency were among the aspects she particularly enjoyed.
Her previous experience in property development and lettings provides a foundation for her new responsibilities. She will now use that knowledge to support customers with their property requirements and assist landlords and tenants throughout their dealings with the agency.
Birkett also highlighted the importance of working with customers from different backgrounds and understanding their individual circumstances. She said helping people through their property journey and supporting them as they move into a new home was particularly rewarding.
Vevers brings a different but complementary area of experience to the expanded lettings team. Her background in housing and financial services, including mortgages, has given her an understanding of customer requirements and the financial side of property.
She said her previous roles had taught her the importance of understanding what customers need and helping them identify appropriate solutions. She also highlighted accuracy, organisation and clear communication as skills that have transferred directly into her new role.
Vevers will support landlords and tenants by helping them understand their responsibilities and requirements. She also said resolving issues quickly and maintaining clear communication would be central to ensuring the letting process operates smoothly.
The appointments come as the business seeks to develop its residential lettings presence across a wider geographical area. Cumbria, Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Borders are all included within the firm's plans for portfolio growth.
For landlords, an expanded property management team provides additional capacity to handle the practical requirements associated with rental properties. For tenants, the additional staff are expected to support communication and help deal with issues arising during the letting process.
The two appointments also bring together experience from several areas of the property industry. Birkett's background in property development and lettings and Vevers' experience in housing and mortgages provide different perspectives within the growing team.
