Entries Still Open For Popular Ulverston Summer Race Next Month
Runners across Cumbria are being encouraged to secure their place in the Ulverston Summer Race, with organisers confirming that entries are still available ahead of the much anticipated event taking place next month.
The annual race has become a popular fixture on the local sporting calendar, attracting both experienced athletes and recreational runners. Organised by Hoad Hill Harriers, the event will be held at Ulverston Park Sports Club and will feature a 10K race alongside a one mile fun run, providing opportunities for participants of different ages and abilities to get involved.
The event is expected to welcome hundreds of competitors from across the region. Organisers say the race offers a friendly atmosphere while also providing a competitive challenge for club runners aiming for prizes in various age categories. Medals and commemorative awards will also be presented to participants.
The 10K course follows a scenic route around Ulverston and surrounding roads, giving runners the opportunity to enjoy the area's countryside while competing in a professionally organised event. The accompanying fun run has been designed to encourage families and younger participants to experience community running in a safe and enjoyable environment.
Organisers have reminded participants that registration remains open but advised anyone planning to take part to enter as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Race packs will be available for collection on the day, and facilities including parking, refreshments, changing areas, and toilets will be provided at the venue.
The annual race continues to play an important role in promoting health, fitness, and community participation throughout the Furness area. Local businesses and volunteers are once again supporting the event, helping ensure another successful edition of the popular summer race.
Community members have welcomed the return of the event, describing it as an excellent opportunity for residents and visitors to stay active while enjoying one of Ulverston's best known sporting occasions. Previous editions have attracted runners ranging from first time participants to seasoned competitors.
With preparations well underway, organisers are looking forward to another memorable evening of competition and community spirit. They hope a strong turnout will continue the event's tradition of bringing together runners from across Cumbria and beyond while celebrating local sport and healthy lifestyles.
