Emergency Services Called After Vehicle Crashes and Rolls Off Road
Emergency services including Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service, Cumbria Police, the North West Ambulance Service, and the Great North Air Ambulance Critical Care Team were called to the A591 at Bannerigg in South Cumbria after reports of a serious collision.
According to South Lakes Police, a vehicle left the road and rolled before coming to rest several metres away from the carriageway. Fire crews had to conduct casualty extraction, working to get the sole occupant out of the vehicle safely.
Thankfully, the driver the only person in the vehicle is not believed to have suffered life-threatening or life-changing injuries, police said.
However, police later arrested the driver after they failed to provide a breath specimen, as reported by officers at the scene.
Incidents like this serve as a reminder to motorists to drive with caution, particularly on rural roads where conditions can change quickly and emergencies demand swift, coordinated responses from multiple services.
