Driver Dies Following Serious A591 Crash Near Kendal

A driver has died after a serious road traffic collision on the A591 near Kendal in Cumbria, police have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Thursday afternoon after reports of a crash involving a single vehicle between Brettargh Holt and Prizet, south of Kendal.

According to police, the collision involved a Mercedes car and the incident was reported at around 1:10 pm. The A591 was closed in both directions while emergency services attended the scene and carried out recovery operations.

Despite the efforts of emergency responders, the driver sadly died following the crash. Police later confirmed the fatality and said investigations into the circumstances of the collision are ongoing.

The road closure caused significant disruption for motorists travelling in the Kendal area as the A591 is a key route connecting the town with other parts of Cumbria and the Lake District.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the driver. Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information to come forward as inquiries continue.
