Daily speed camera van patrols announced for Cumbrian roads

26 Mar 2026 Daily speed camera van patrols announced for Cumbrian roads

Cumbria Police’s road safety camera vans are scheduled to operate at a number of locations across the county today (Wednesday, March 25) as part of ongoing efforts to reduce speeding and improve safety on busy routes.

Drivers can expect mobile enforcement on several major roads, including the A66 west of Penrith, where vans will be deployed to monitor speeds and encourage compliance.

Other routes slated for patrols include the A685 between Tebay and Brough, Cockermouth, Distington and Kendal, along with the A590 stretch between Brettargh Holt and Greenodd.

Additional mobile units will be in operation at Flimby, the A596 between Workington and Aspatria, Broughton Moor, and the A65 between Kirkby Lonsdale and Kendal.

Police are reminding all road users to check their speed and adhere to posted limits, particularly on higher‑risk routes and stretches where van patrols are scheduled, to avoid penalties and contribute to safer roads for everyone.
