Cyclist Robbed of Bike in Carlisle Park

11 May 2026 Cyclist Robbed of Bike in Carlisle Park

A cyclist has had his bike stolen after being robbed in a Carlisle park, prompting a police investigation and renewed appeals for information.

The incident happened in the early evening and involved the victim being approached by an individual who threatened him before taking the bicycle and leaving the scene. The cyclist was not reported to have suffered serious injuries but was left shaken following the ordeal.

Cumbria Police are treating the incident as a robbery and are carrying out enquiries in the local area, including reviewing any available CCTV footage and speaking to potential witnesses who may have been in or around the park at the time.

Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw suspicious behaviour or individuals acting unusually in the area before or after the incident. They are also asking residents nearby to check doorbell cameras and private security systems for any relevant footage.

Police have reminded the public that even small details such as descriptions of people, clothing, or direction of travel can be crucial in helping identify those responsible.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Cumbria Police on 101, quoting the relevant incident reference, or to report anonymously via Crimestoppers.
