Cumbrian Teen Wins Strongest Teen Title for Second Time
A teenage strongman from Maryport has secured his second consecutive title after an outstanding performance at a regional competition.
Keenan Pearson, 17, was crowned champion at the Kaos Strongest Teenager contest held in Preston, where he delivered a dominant display across all events.
Pearson topped the leaderboard in each of the four disciplines, including the deadlift, axle press, farmers carry and medley, underlining his strength and consistency throughout the competition.
In the deadlift event, he lifted up to 240kg, significantly outperforming his rivals, with the nearest competitor reaching 200kg. His commanding performance meant he did not need to complete his final attempt.
He continued his dominance in the remaining events, recording a 100kg axle press, completing a farmers carry of 85kg in each hand in under nine seconds, and finishing the medley challenge well ahead of the competition.
Speaking after the victory, Pearson said he was surprised but delighted to retain his title, describing the achievement as a “really good feeling.”
The young athlete, who trains six days a week, is now preparing for upcoming competitions, including Cumbria’s Strongest Man event, where he plans to compete against more experienced participants.
Pearson credited his coach and sponsors for supporting his rapid rise in the sport, as he continues to build his reputation in strongman competitions.
