Cumbrian Construction Firm Launches New Community Fund to Support Local Projects
A leading construction firm in Cumbria has announced the launch of a new community fund aimed at supporting local initiatives and giving back to the areas where it operates.
Flimby-based Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd has introduced the fund to help address key issues such as poverty, skills development, and community wellbeing. The initiative will provide financial support to not-for-profit organisations working to make a positive impact across the region.
The fund, managed by Cumbria Community Foundation, will offer grants of up to £2,000 to eligible organisations located near the company’s headquarters and operational sites, including towns such as Workington, Whitehaven, and Penrith.
Company leaders said the initiative reflects their commitment to strengthening ties with local communities and supporting projects that create meaningful change. They emphasised that the fund is intended to deliver long-term benefits and improve quality of life across Cumbria.
Representatives from Cumbria Community Foundation also welcomed the partnership, highlighting their experience in managing charitable funds and ensuring that financial support reaches the areas where it is most needed.
The new fund is expected to support a range of community-led projects and provide a boost to grassroots organisations working across the county.
