Cumbrian Accountants Raise £10,000 to Support Blood Bikes Charity
A Cumbrian accounting firm has successfully raised £10,000 for Blood Bikes Cumbria and Dumfries & Galloway Blood Bikes as part of its chosen charity efforts for 2025.
The fundraising campaign, organised by David Allen, saw staff, clients and members of the wider community take part in a variety of events throughout the year. Activities included book sales, rugby days, bake sales, quiz nights and other community events that encouraged participation and generosity.
Blood Bikes organisations are volunteer-run charities that provide vital medical courier services, delivering essential blood and medical supplies free of charge 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to support NHS services and emergency response teams.
James White, chairman of Blood Bikes Cumbria, expressed deep gratitude for the firm’s support, saying the funds and raised awareness are crucial to keeping their services running. He emphasised that without such backing, people living in rural areas could face difficulties accessing timely medical support.
Alison Welton, managing partner at David Allen, said the achievement reflected the firm’s commitment to making a positive impact and highlighted the generosity shown by staff, clients and the community.
Dave Hook, chairman of Dumfries & Galloway Blood Bikes, also praised the partnership, noting that support from local businesses is essential to sustaining lifesaving services and helping NHS patients across both regions.
The donated funds are expected to go a long way in supporting the ongoing work of the Blood Bikes teams, helping ensure they can continue transporting critical medical supplies reliably and efficiently.
