Cumbria Showcases Investment Potential at Major UK Forum

20 May 2026 Cumbria Showcases Investment Potential at Major UK Forum

Cumbria is being showcased at the UK Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF) in Leeds this week as regional leaders seek to attract new investment and business partnerships to the county.

The three-day conference is expected to draw thousands of delegates, including investors, developers and senior decision-makers from across Britain and overseas.

Olympic champion and former Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins are leading Cumbria’s presence at the event, taking part in networking sessions and discussions focused on tourism, infrastructure and economic growth. Organisers hope his involvement will also build excitement ahead of the Tour de France Grand Depart stages planned for Cumbria in 2027.

Representatives from Enterprising Cumbria, local councils and regional business groups are using the forum to highlight key investment opportunities across sectors including clean energy, advanced manufacturing, transport and the visitor economy. Officials say the event provides a valuable platform to connect with developers and investors interested in long-term projects across the region.

UKREiiF, held annually in Leeds, has become one of Britain’s leading gatherings for real estate and infrastructure investment, attracting more than 16,000 delegates this year.
