Cumbria Police Reveal M6 Speed Camera Van Locations Ahead of Weekend Traffic
Motorists travelling through Cumbria have been advised to stick to posted speed limits after Cumbria Police published the latest locations where mobile speed camera vans will be operating. The enforcement campaign covers several major routes, including sections of the M6, as part of ongoing road safety initiatives across the county.
According to the police, camera vans will be deployed on the M6 between Junctions 36 and 38, along with a number of other busy roads where speeding has previously been identified as a concern. The locations are released regularly to encourage safer driving rather than catch motorists by surprise.
Additional enforcement will take place on roads including Barrow, Walney, Kirkby-in-Furness and the A590 between Brettargh Holt and Brettargh Tunnel. Officers may also monitor traffic at other locations depending on operational requirements and road safety concerns.
Cumbria Police say excessive speed remains one of the leading causes of serious and fatal road collisions. Drivers are being reminded to remain alert, observe changing speed limits and adjust their driving to suit traffic, weather and road conditions.
Police have urged all road users to treat the published camera van locations as a reminder to drive responsibly at all times, not only where enforcement is visible. The force says its primary objective is to improve safety for everyone using Cumbria's roads and reduce the number of preventable collisions.
