Cumbria Police Publish Speed Camera Van Locations to Improve Road Safety

Cumbria Police Publish Speed Camera Van Locations to Improve Road Safety

Cumbria Police have revealed where their mobile speed camera vans will be positioned on February 8 as part of ongoing efforts to make roads safer. The move is designed to inform motorists and help reduce speeding and accidents by making drivers aware of enforcement activity across the county.
Among the sites listed for the day are junction 45 near North Carlisle, Houghton, and the A689 between Brampton and Carlisle. Police say publishing these locations encourages people to stick to the legal limits, particularly in places that have seen higher levels of speeding behaviour.
The announcement is part of a wider initiative to improve compliance and accountability on Cumbria’s roads. By publicising where camera vans will operate, the force hopes drivers will think more carefully about their speed and drive responsibly, especially in areas known for traffic risks.
Cumbria’s road safety teams continue to work with local communities and partners to identify locations where mobile speed enforcement can have the greatest impact. Regular updates on camera van locations are expected to remain a feature of the police’s strategy to reduce collisions and protect all road users.
