Cumbria Amnesty Launched as Blank-Firing Weapons Are Banned
Cumbria Police has launched a month-long firearms amnesty after a set of previously lawful blank-firing weapons were reclassified as illegal to possess in England and Wales. The initiative runs from February 2 to February 27, offering owners a chance to hand in specified weapons safely and without fear of prosecution.
Under new guidance from the National Crime Agency (NCA) and senior police leaders, five models of side- or top-venting blank-firing firearms manufactured by Bruni have been found to be readily convertible into live weapons using common tools a key factor in their prohibition under UK law
