Countdown Begins for Penrith May Day Celebration

27 Apr 2026 Countdown Begins for Penrith May Day Celebration

The countdown is underway for the annual Penrith May Day celebration, as organisers gear up for one of the town’s most popular community events. The festivities will take place on Monday, May 4, bringing a full day of entertainment to the town centre.

This year’s event promises a lively atmosphere, with a wide range of activities designed to appeal to all ages. Visitors can expect live music, street entertainment, arts and crafts, and a variety of fun games, alongside the traditional parade that remains a highlight of the day.

A funfair will also run throughout the day, offering rides and attractions, while additional features such as land train rides and interactive activities are set to add to the festive experience.

The 2026 celebration is themed around “In the Garden,” reflecting creativity, growth and community spirit values that have long been at the heart of Penrith’s May Day tradition.

Organised by the town council in partnership with local groups and performers, the free event is expected to draw large crowds once again. Building on the success of previous years, organisers aim to deliver another colourful and memorable day for residents and visitors alike.

Penrith May Day has been a longstanding tradition in the town, featuring parades, performances and community involvement that celebrate local culture and heritage.
