Cockermouth Live! Festival Set to Return This Summer
One of Cumbria’s most popular community music festivals is set to make its return this summer as Cockermouth Live! prepares to bring four days of live entertainment, performances, and family-friendly events to the town.
The festival, now entering its 17th year, will take place from July 2 to July 5 and is expected to attract large crowds from across Cumbria and beyond. Organizers say the event will once again transform Cockermouth into a lively hub of music and culture, with performances taking place across more than 20 venues throughout the town.
Cockermouth Live! has become a major fixture in the local events calendar, combining ticketed headline concerts with a wide range of free performances featuring local musicians, bands, choirs, and community groups. Festival organizers describe the event as a celebration of local creativity and community spirit, offering something for all ages and musical tastes.
This year’s headline acts are expected to include Yoko Pwno, Snake Davis, and Sam Millne & The Variants, alongside appearances by the Paramount Brass Quintet, Cockermouth Mechanics Band, and the Cockermouth Community Orchestra. Organizers say the lineup reflects the festival’s tradition of mixing established performers with emerging local talent.
The festival will begin on Thursday, July 2, with a special collaboration involving Cockermouth Music Society and a performance by Paramount Brass, a quintet made up of young musicians from the Royal Northern College of Music. Additional concerts, outdoor performances, and community events are scheduled throughout the weekend.
Venues across Cockermouth, including pubs, cafés, arts spaces, and public areas, are expected to host performances during the four-day celebration. Hundreds of performers are anticipated to take part, with many local businesses also expected to benefit from increased visitor numbers during the busy summer period.
