08 Sep 2026 CCTV Images Released After Shoplifting At Barrow Supermarket

Police are investigating reported shoplifting at a Barrow supermarket and have released CCTV images of two people they want to identify.

The incident took place at Tesco on Hindpool Road in Barrow, with officers now appealing to the public for information that could assist their enquiries.

Police said the reported shoplifting happened on July 23, during the afternoon, with the incident occurring between approximately 4.30pm and 4.45pm.

Officers have released images showing two people they believe may be able to help with the investigation. Police are asking anyone who recognises them to come forward.

The appeal forms part of an ongoing investigation into the reported incident at the supermarket. Officers are seeking information that could help them establish the circumstances surrounding what happened.

Police have not provided further details about the items allegedly taken or the circumstances in which the shoplifting was reported. The focus of the latest appeal is identifying the two people pictured.

The supermarket is located on Hindpool Road, an area of Barrow where officers are now seeking assistance from members of the public who may have information relevant to the investigation.

Anyone who was at the Tesco store around the time of the incident and may have seen something relevant is being encouraged to contact police. Information could assist officers in progressing their enquiries.

Cumbria Police has asked anyone who can identify either of the people pictured, or who has information about the incident, to report it through the force’s online reporting service.

When contacting police online, members of the public should quote log number 109 of July 27, 2026. The same information can also be provided by calling 101.

People who have information but do not want to provide their details directly to police can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously. The independent charity can be reached on 0800 555 111.

Police are particularly interested in information that could help establish the identities of the two people shown in the released CCTV images. Members of the public are asked to consider whether they recognise either individual.

The appeal comes as officers continue their investigation into the reported shoplifting incident at the Hindpool Road supermarket. The released images are intended to help police identify potential witnesses or people who may have information relevant to the case.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Cumbria Police as soon as possible, either through the online reporting service or by calling 101 and quoting the relevant log number.
