Carlisle Pub To Close For Six-Figure Refurbishment.
A Carlisle pub is set to close temporarily while it undergoes a six-figure refurbishment designed to give the venue a new look and introduce a range of improvements for customers.
The Gosling Bridge Inn, on Kingstown Road, will close from September 28 and is expected to reopen in October following the investment by its owner, Greene King. The refurbishment will focus on modernising the pub's interior while creating additional seating areas. The venue will also receive an upgraded darts area, complete with new television screens and sound systems for customers watching live sporting events.
The changes are intended to provide a more modern environment while retaining the pub's role as a destination for local customers looking for food, drinks, entertainment and live sport. As part of the changes, the Gosling Bridge Inn will also introduce an earlier opening time from October. The pub will open from 7am Monday to Friday and from 8am at weekends.
The earlier opening will coincide with the launch of a new breakfast menu, giving customers the option of visiting the pub earlier in the day. The refurbishment comes as Greene King continues to invest in its pub estate, with venues across the country receiving updates to their interiors, entertainment facilities and outdoor spaces.
The Gosling Bridge Inn has previously undergone significant investment, including a major refurbishment in 2018 which brought changes to its interior, bar, dining areas and sports facilities. The latest project will give the Kingstown Road venue another substantial update, with the upgraded darts facilities and new screens expected to appeal particularly to customers interested in sport and social entertainment.
Customers will have to wait while the work is completed, with the pub currently scheduled to close on September 28 before reopening the following month. Greene King has not provided a precise reopening date, but the planned changes are expected to give customers a refreshed venue when the Gosling Bridge Inn returns.
