Carl Stonehewer Pays Tribute to Workington Comets Supporters After Emotional Return
Former Workington Comets legend Carl Stonehewer has thanked the club’s supporters for the warm reception he received during his recent visit to Northside Speedway.
Stonehewer, one of the most successful riders in the club’s history, said the loyalty and passion shown by Comets fans have always held a special place in his heart. Reflecting on his years with the club, he described Workington as an important chapter in his career and credited supporters for helping create many unforgettable memories.
The former rider enjoyed a glittering spell with the Comets, winning multiple individual and team honours while establishing himself as a fan favourite. His achievements helped shape one of the most successful eras in the club’s history.
During his return, Stonehewer was delighted to reconnect with supporters, many of whom have continued to follow the club through both successful and challenging periods. He praised the dedication of the fanbase and said their commitment remains a key part of what makes Workington special.
