Body Found in Search for Missing Haverigg Prisoner in Sedbergh

Cumbria Police have found a body during the search for a prisoner who went missing after failing to return to HMP Haverigg in Cumbria.
Officers confirmed that the body was discovered at Holme Knott in Sedbergh at around 2:05pm on January 22, following a report from a member of the public. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and police stated that the death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.
The search began after John Hosker, 43, failed to return to prison on January 8 after being released on temporary licence for a work-related placement. His disappearance prompted a large-scale police operation across the region.
Police have informed the family of the missing man, and further inquiries are ongoing to establish formal identification and circumstances surrounding the death.
Authorities reiterated that there is currently no indication of suspicious circumstances, and the investigation will continue in line with standard procedures.
