21 Apr 2026 BMW Stolen After Keys Taken in Carlisle House Break-In

Police are investigating after a BMW was stolen from outside a home in Carlisle following a burglary in which the car keys were taken from inside the property.

The incident happened on Rufus Road between 2am and 3am on Sunday, April 19. During the break-in, offenders entered the house and took keys belonging to a grey BMW parked outside.

After obtaining the keys, the suspects stole the vehicle, which was later seen being driven in the Nunnery Close area of the city.

Cumbria Police have launched an appeal for information and are asking residents in the area to check CCTV and doorbell footage that may assist the investigation. Officers are also particularly interested in any sightings of males riding electric bikes near Rufus Road and surrounding streets around the time of the burglary.

Police have urged anyone with relevant information to contact them on 101, quoting the incident reference number provided, or to report anonymously through Crimestoppers.
