Battle of the Roses brings riders together at Cumbria’s Harness Change
A major equestrian gathering took place in Cumbria as Harness Change hosted the latest Battle of the Roses, bringing together teams, riders and supporters for a day of competition and celebration. The event attracted participants from across the region and added another memorable chapter to one of the area’s popular horse riding occasions.
Held at Harness Change at Bigland Hall, the event created a lively atmosphere as competitors took part in a series of challenges designed to test riding ability, partnership and teamwork. Organisers praised the effort shown by all teams and congratulated those who took part in the day’s action. A post from the venue described the occasion as a success and thanked everyone involved.
The Battle of the Roses has become more than a sporting contest. It also serves as a community occasion that brings together riders of different ages and experience levels. Supporters gathered to watch the action, while participants enjoyed the chance to compete in a setting known for promoting confidence, learning and connection through horses.
For Harness Change, the event reflected the centre’s wider role in the local community. Based in the Lake District, the venue regularly hosts riding sessions, educational activities and special events aimed at encouraging personal development and shared experiences through equestrian activities.
The successful staging of this year’s Battle of the Roses once again highlighted the strength of Cumbria’s equestrian community. With riders, families and organisers coming together, the event delivered both competition and community spirit in equal measure.
