Barrow Man Sentenced for Fraud, Theft and Drug Possession
A Barrow man has been sentenced after admitting a series of fraud, theft and drug-related offences.
James Ackred, 42, was sentenced at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on December 3 after previously pleading guilty to nine counts of fraud by false representation, theft and possession of a Class B drug.
Court records show Ackred, of no fixed abode, carried out transactions totalling £190.19 in Barrow on March 16 this year. He was later found to be in possession of amphetamine on April 25.
Magistrates imposed a 12-month community order, requiring Ackred to complete 15 rehabilitation activity days and take part in a three-month drug rehabilitation programme under the supervision of Recovery Steps.
He was also ordered to repay the full amount stolen in compensation.
