Barrow Man Jailed for Six Years Over Heroin and Cocaine Supply
A 57‑year‑old man from Barrow has been jailed after admitting a string of drug‑related offences, including possession with intent to supply heroin and cocaine. Peter Barry, of Rodney Street, was handed a six‑year prison sentence at court yesterday following convictions on two counts of possession with intent to supply drugs and two counts of possession of Class A drugs.
The sentencing comes as part of ongoing efforts by Cumbria police and prosecutors to tackle the supply and distribution of dangerous drugs in the region, particularly the Class A substances that pose significant risks to public health and community safety.
Barry’s offences highlight continued law‑enforcement focus on disrupting the availability of heroin and cocaine locally, with authorities stressing that such crimes will be met with substantial custodial sentences.
Police and court officials have reiterated the importance of community reporting and intelligence in helping to identify those involved in drug dealing networks across Cumbria.
