19 Year Old Dies After Getting Into Difficulty In Grasmere

A 19 year old man has died after getting into difficulty in the water at Grasmere, prompting a major emergency response involving multiple services and an air ambulance.

Emergency services were called to Grasmere at around 4.35pm on Saturday, August 8, following reports that a young man had experienced difficulties in the water. An air ambulance was among the emergency resources sent to the scene as responders worked to assist the teenager.

The young man was taken to hospital following the incident but subsequently died. His family has been informed of his death, and police have confirmed that the circumstances are not being treated as suspicious.

Officers are now appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened to come forward with information that could help establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. Police have also thanked members of the public who came to the teenager's aid, including those who helped bring him to shore.
