19 Year Old Charged With Dangerous Driving After Police Chase In North Cumbria

A 19 year old man has been charged with dangerous driving and failing to stop for police following a pursuit involving a van in north Cumbria.

Officers attempted to stop the van in the Linstock area, near Carlisle, on Saturday, August 8. Police said the vehicle had been seen being used for the consumption of nitrous oxide before officers began the pursuit.

The pursuit was brought to a safe conclusion, and several people were arrested as officers responded to the incident. Police said residents in the nearby villages of Houghton and Blackford may have noticed an increased police presence while the operation was taking place.

Police said the arrests followed the development of local drugs intelligence and increased patrols in the area after concerns had been raised by residents.
