11 year old mountain biker rescued after getting lost in Lake District forest
The child became separated while mountain biking in Whinlatter Forest near Keswick from his parents on the bike trails on Saturday and couldn’t find his way down. After trying but failing to reach his parents, he sensibly called 999 at around 4.45pm to ask for help.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team, Cumbria Police, and staff from Cyclewise searched the forest trails and quickly located him. He was then escorted to the ranger’s office, where he was reunited with his mum and dad.
Rescuers praised the boy for staying calm and making the right decision by calling emergency services.
