Lake District Vet Clinic Installs First CT Scanner to Boost Animal Diagnostics

Archway Veterinary Practice in Lindale has installed its first-ever CT scanner, marking a significant upgrade in diagnostic care for animals in the Lake District.

The new scanner allows vets to perform advanced imaging that provides detailed cross-sectional views of the body. This helps in identifying issues such as fractures, tumours, internal injuries, and complex illnesses that standard X-rays might not detect.

Clinic leaders say the installation will reduce the need to refer patients to external facilities, making advanced diagnostics more accessible locally. Staff have been trained to use the machine and it is already being applied in clinical cases.
