Attacks On Ebola Treatment Centres Intensify In Eastern DRC Amid Rising Outbreak Fears

Violence targeting medical facilities in the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo has intensified, with several reported attacks on Ebola treatment centres disrupting critical healthcare services. 

Health workers say that repeated incidents have damaged facilities, forced temporary closures, and created an unsafe environment for both patients and medical staff. The disruption is especially concerning as the region continues to remain vulnerable to infectious disease threats.

The centres are primarily focused on treating and isolating patients affected by the deadly Ebola virus disease, which has historically caused multiple outbreaks in Central Africa. Medical experts warn that any interruption in treatment and containment measures could increase the risk of wider transmission.

Local officials have condemned the attacks, describing them as a major setback for public health response efforts.
