Huge Pyrenean Mountain Dog arrives at Animal Concern Cumbria

Cumbrian Animal Shelter Welcomes 66kg ‘Small Polar Bear’ Dog
A Cumbrian animal shelter has introduced its latest and rather enormous resident a 66kg Pyrenean Mountain Dog described as being the size of a “small polar bear”.
Brody, the gentle giant, has quickly become a favourite at Animal Concern Cumbria, where staff say that despite his size, he appears convinced he is a lap dog.
The shelter shared a humorous photo on social media showing Brody perched on a staff member’s lap. The caption read:
“Meet our newest arrival a 66kg Pyrenean Mountain Dog who has decided that Georgia’s lap is the perfect place to sit… despite Georgia strongly disagreeing. As you can see, Brody’s absolutely thrilled with himself, while Georgia is somewhere underneath him, praying for oxygen and better life choices.”
Brody is currently under assessment and will soon enjoy a full de-matting spa day to help him look and feel his best. The shelter has urged people not to send adoption applications yet.
Animal Concern Cumbria added:
“We’ll attempt to transform this shaggy yet majestic armchair-with-legs into the glorious mountain fluff he’s meant to be. Stay tuned for updates as he prepares for homing… preferably with someone who doesn’t mind being occasionally sat on by a small polar bear.”
Once he is ready for adoption, Brody’s profile will be shared on the shelter’s website and across its Facebook and Instagram pages.
