Over 200 Cars Take Part in Wigton Motor Club’s Drive It Day Event
Over 200 cars turned out for Wigton Motor Club’s annual Drive It Day, held at Dale main Mansion near Penrith, as enthusiasts from across the region came together to celebrate historic motoring.
The popular event, which is part of a nationwide initiative organised by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs, saw a wide range of vehicles on display, from vintage classics to modern enthusiast cars.
Drive It Day is traditionally held on the Sunday closest to St George’s Day and marks the start of the classic car season across the UK. The Cumbrian gathering has become one of the largest of its kind in the region, attracting drivers and visitors from far and wide.
Participants travelled to the venue via scenic routes before joining a relaxed meet-up at Dale main, where visitors were able to view the vehicles and enjoy refreshments on site. The event also supported charitable fundraising, continuing the club’s long-standing tradition of community support.
Wigton Motor Club, the largest motor club in the north of England, regularly organises a range of competitive and social motoring events throughout the year, with Drive It Day remaining one of its most popular fixtures.
