23 Jun 2026 Award-Winning Artist Returns to Low Wood Bay for Summer Gallery Exhibition

Award-winning Northwest artist Norman Long has been invited back to Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa for a second exhibition at the venue’s popular Art in the Atrium gallery, further strengthening the resort’s commitment to promoting regional artistic talent.

Located on the shores of Windermere in the heart of the Lake District, Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa has become known not only for its hospitality and wellness facilities but also for its support of the arts through its rotating gallery exhibitions. The latest summer showcase features a selection of Norman Long’s most notable and recent works, offering visitors an opportunity to experience the creativity and craftsmanship that have earned him recognition across the Northwest.

Long’s return to the gallery follows the success of his previous exhibition at the resort, which attracted strong interest from guests, visitors, and art enthusiasts. His artwork is widely admired for its distinctive style and ability to capture emotion, atmosphere, and the beauty of the natural world. The latest collection demonstrates both his artistic evolution and continued dedication to producing high-quality work.

Joining Long in the exhibition is acclaimed North Wales ceramicist Wendy Lawrence, whose handcrafted ceramic pieces add another dimension to the summer display. Lawrence is known for creating unique works that combine traditional techniques with contemporary artistic influences. Her ceramics have gained appreciation for their intricate detail, elegant forms, and strong connection to nature and landscape.

The collaboration between the two artists creates a diverse exhibition that showcases different artistic disciplines while highlighting the creativity found across the Northwest and North Wales. Visitors can explore a variety of artworks, ranging from striking paintings to carefully crafted ceramic pieces, all displayed within the welcoming surroundings of the resort’s atrium gallery.

The Art in the Atrium programme has become an important platform for both established and emerging artists, providing them with a prestigious venue in one of the UK's most visited tourist destinations. By hosting regular exhibitions throughout the year, the gallery enables guests and local residents to engage with contemporary art while supporting regional creative talent.

Representatives of Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa said the exhibition reflects the venue’s ongoing commitment to celebrating art and culture alongside its hospitality offering. The resort continues to attract visitors from across the country, many of whom appreciate the opportunity to enjoy artistic exhibitions during their stay in the Lake District.

The summer exhibition featuring Norman Long and Wendy Lawrence is now open and is expected to remain a highlight of the resort’s cultural calendar. Art lovers, hotel guests, and visitors to Windermere are invited to view the collection and discover the work of two respected artists whose creations reflect the rich artistic heritage of the region.
