Four Day Carlisle Weekend Celebration Announced.
A new four day celebration of Carlisle is set to take place later this month, with a range of activities planned across the city.
Carlisle Weekend will run from Thursday, September 24 to Sunday, September 27, bringing together local businesses, attractions and community organisations. The event is being organised by the city's Business Improvement District (BID) and will feature a citywide pub quiz, behind the scenes tours, sports taster sessions and special offers at restaurants and cafés.
The celebration will also coincide with several other major events in the city, including a University of Cumbria open day, Cumbria Pride and a Carlisle United home game, giving residents and visitors even more reasons to spend time in the city centre.
Local businesses, attractions and community groups have been invited to take part and showcase what they have to offer. Carlisle BID manager Chandra Pollock said the weekend was designed to bring businesses, communities and events together while celebrating what makes the city special.
She said organisers want residents to feel proud of Carlisle and visitors to experience the city in a fresh way, while giving local organisations an opportunity to promote their work. The organisers hope Carlisle Weekend will create a lively atmosphere across the city and encourage people to visit, stay longer and discover something new.
Businesses interested in getting involved have been invited to contact the Carlisle BID team for further information. The new celebration is expected to provide a boost for Carlisle's local businesses, hospitality sector and attractions, while creating a packed weekend of activities for residents and visitors.
