Lake District injured walker stretchered off fell

A walker was rescued in the Lake District after suffering injuries while out on a fell, prompting a response from a local mountain rescue team.

Emergency services were called after the individual became injured on difficult terrain leaving them unable to continue walking safely. Rescue volunteers quickly made their way to the scene to assess the situation and provide medical assistance.

After reaching the casualty, the team administered first aid and stabilised the walker’s condition. Due to the nature of the injuries and the location, it was decided that the safest way to evacuate the individual was by using a stretcher.

Rescue members carefully carried the walker across the fell terrain navigating challenging conditions to bring them to a safer access point.

Once off the fell, the injured person was transferred for further medical treatment with responders ensuring they were safely handed over to additional care.
