Five Day Cumbria Weather Outlook Brings Sunshine Before Heavy Rain.

Cumbria is facing a changeable spell of weather over the next five days, with residents enjoying some sunshine before a significant band of rain arrives from Sunday.

Saturday is expected to provide a mostly dry and mild break across much of the county, with some sunny spells. Temperatures are expected to reach around 17°C in southern parts of Cumbria, while cooler conditions are likely across the fells and inland areas.

However, the weather is set to change significantly on Sunday as heavy rain moves across the county, particularly later in the day. Temperatures could reach around 21°C in Carlisle, creating a noticeably warmer and more humid feel before the rain arrives.

Monday is expected to be particularly unsettled, with persistent heavy rainfall and blustery south westerly winds affecting much of Cumbria. Temperatures will fall back to around 16°C. Further showers are forecast for Tuesday, although conditions should gradually improve towards the evening. Temperatures are expected to struggle to reach around 15°C, making it feel considerably cooler than the start of the weekend.

By Wednesday, Cumbria could see a welcome return to drier and more settled conditions, with sunny periods and a cooler, autumnal feel.

There will also be noticeable differences across the county. Coastal locations such as Silloth and Whitehaven are expected to experience stronger and more gusty winds, while areas such as Windermere could see lighter breezes.

The forecast highlights the typically changeable nature of Cumbrian weather, with residents and visitors advised to prepare for both sunshine and heavy rainfall during the coming days.
