Taste Cumbria Food Festival Returns to Wigton with Food, Fun and Family Entertainment
The popular Taste Cumbria food festival has returned to Wigton, marking the opening event of the 2026 festival calendar.
Held on Saturday, April 25 in the heart of the town, the free-to-attend event transformed the Water Streetcar park into a vibrant hub of food, music, and entertainment. The festival featured a producers’ market showcasing local food and drink, a hot food court, live music performances, and a range of attractions for families.
Organisers also provided a variety of activities for children, including fairground rides, arts and crafts, and hands-on entertainment, while a craft market in the nearby Market Hall highlighted the work of local creatives.
The event forms part of the wider Taste Cumbria series, which celebrates local produce and supports small businesses across the region. Visitors were encouraged to enjoy food on-site, meet producers, and experience the town’s lively atmosphere throughout the day.
Wigton’s festival is the first of several Taste Cumbria events planned for 2026, with similar celebrations scheduled in Maryport, Cockermouth, and Carlisle later in the year.
Organisers say the festival continues to play an important role in supporting local businesses and bringing communities together through food, culture, and entertainment.
