Taste Cumbria Festival Set to Return to Wigton in April

25 Mar 2026 Taste Cumbria Festival Set to Return to Wigton in April

The popular Taste Cumbria festival is returning to Wigton, bringing a day of food, fun and entertainment to the town on Saturday, April 25.

The one‑day event will take place in the Water Street car park and promises something for all ages. Visitors can enjoy a producers’ market, a hot food court serving local delicacies, live music from the festival stage, a climbing wall, and rides for children.

Adjacent to the outdoor festivities, Wigton Market Hall will host additional family activities and a craft market showcasing the work of local creatives. Entertainment for younger guests includes magic performances by Liam Moorhouse and hands‑on creative workshops.

Organised by Cumberland Council, Taste Cumbria events aim to celebrate regional food and drink while supporting independent businesses. Councillor Anne Quilter, the council’s executive member for vibrant and healthy places, expressed excitement about the return to Wigton, praising the town and its local traders for their contribution to the festival’s success.

This event kicks off the 2026 Taste Cumbria calendar. It will be followed by the Taste of the Sea festival in Maryport on August 8–9, and the flagship Taste Cumbria festival in Cockermouth on September 26–27. The season will conclude with Taste Cumbria Christmas in Cockermouth on December 5–6.
