Carlisle Trio to Lead Cast in New Lake District Film Production

A new independent film set to be filmed in the Lake District will feature a leading cast made up of three actors from Carlisle, shining a spotlight on local talent in one of the region’s most ambitious creative projects in recent years.

The upcoming production, which is currently in pre-production, will be shot across several locations in Cumbria, with scenes expected to take place around some of the Lake District’s best-known beauty spots. Producers say the film aims to combine a strong northern storyline with the dramatic scenery that has made the national park one of the UK’s most recognisable filming destinations. 

The three Carlisle performers selected for the lead roles have previously built experience in theatre, television and independent productions, but this project is expected to provide their biggest platform to date. Filmmakers behind the project said they were determined to cast actors with genuine local roots in order to bring authenticity to the story and reflect the character of Cumbria on screen. 

Production crews are expected to begin filming later this year, with local businesses and tourism leaders welcoming the announcement.
