Barrow’s Parkside Academy Praised by Ofsted Inspectors for Strong Standards
Parkside Academy in Barrow has received positive feedback from Ofsted inspectors following its latest inspection, with several areas of the school’s performance commended.
Inspectors found that pupils are happy, feel safe and benefit from a welcoming and supportive environment. Strong relationships between staff and students were highlighted as a key strength, helping children to feel confident and engaged in their learning.
Behaviour across the school was particularly praised, with pupils showing respect both in lessons and around the school. Inspectors noted that poor behaviour is rare and is managed effectively by staff when it does occur.
School leaders were also recognised for maintaining high expectations and ensuring that all pupils, including those with additional needs, are well supported. The curriculum was described as broad and ambitious, giving children a solid foundation in their education.
A strong focus on reading and language development was another positive point, with pupils encouraged to build confidence in their literacy skills from an early age. In addition, a variety of activities outside the classroom helps support students’ overall development.
Overall, the report reflects a school that continues to perform well, with inspectors acknowledging both its strengths and areas where further improvement can be made.
