Young Person Caught Shoplifting at Penrith Supermarket
Police in Penrith have taken action after a young person was caught shoplifting at a local supermarket.
According to Eden Police, the incident occurred on Sunday, March 29, at the town’s Sainsbury’s store. Officers later attended the individual’s home following the incident.
The youngster was issued a Community Resolution, an informal measure used to address low-level offences without proceeding to court. Authorities explained that this approach allows offenders to take responsibility for their actions while providing a quicker resolution for those affected.
Police also warned that any further offences could result in more serious consequences, including a criminal record.
