Three Charged With Attempted Murder After Workington Stabbing

Three people have been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing incident that left a man seriously injured in Workington earlier this week.

The charges relate to an incident in Workington in which a man sustained serious stab wounds and was taken to hospital for treatment. Following an investigation by Cumbria Police, officers charged Andrew Potts, 44, of St Andrew's Crescent, Whitehaven; Antony Gunn, 40, of no fixed address; and Melissa Howlett, 35, of no fixed address.

All three defendants have been charged with attempted murder and are scheduled to appear before Workington Magistrates' Court. Detectives confirmed that enquiries remain ongoing as they continue gathering evidence surrounding the incident.

Emergency services responded quickly after reports of the stabbing, with the victim receiving medical treatment before being taken to hospital. Police have not released further details regarding the victim's current condition but described the investigation as a significant priority.
