Three Arrested Following Drug Raids Across Cumbria
Three people have been arrested after police conducted a number of drug raids across Cumbria earlier this month.
Officers from Cumbria Police’s Eden Neighbourhood Policing Team executed three warrants in the areas of Penrith and Alston, working alongside specialist units including operational support, the dog section and intelligence teams.
A man in his 20s was arrested on May 13 following a raid at a property in Stricklandgate, Penrith. He is suspected of possessing Class B drugs with intent to supply.
Earlier, on May 1, a separate operation in Market Place, Alston led to the arrest of a man in his 40s and a woman in her 30s on suspicion of drug supply offences.
Police confirmed that all three individuals have since been released under investigation while enquiries continue. Quantities of suspected drugs and cash were also seized during the operations.
Authorities said the raids form part of a wider campaign to disrupt drug-related activity in the Eden area. Officers stressed that community information plays a vital role in identifying offenders and supporting enforcement action.
Police added that they will continue to take firm action against those involved in drug dealing, warning that further operations can be expected as part of ongoing efforts to protect local communities.
