Six Arrested After Police Crack Down on Dangerous Off-Road Bike Riding in Barrow

04 Jun 2026 Six Arrested After Police Crack Down on Dangerous Off-Road Bike Riding in Barrow

Police in Barrow have arrested six individuals after receiving information from members of the public about dangerous off-road bike riding across the town.

Officers from Furness Police launched an investigation following multiple complaints about riders behaving recklessly in local neighbourhoods. The reports were supported by CCTV footage, which helped identify those involved.

The six suspects were arrested on suspicion of a range of offences including dangerous driving, driving without a licence, driving without insurance, and failing to wear protective helmets. All of those arrested have since been released on bail while further enquiries continue.

Furness Police praised the role of the community in helping tackle the issue, saying public intelligence played a vital role in identifying offenders and addressing anti-social behaviour.

A police spokesperson said officers remain committed to disrupting illegal and dangerous off-road bike activity and encouraged residents to continue reporting any further incidents. The investigation is ongoing.
