Seven arrested as £35,000 cash and drugs seized in Cumbria raids

02 Apr 2026 Seven arrested as £35,000 cash and drugs seized in Cumbria raids

Seven individuals have been arrested after police carried out a series of coordinated raids across Cumbria, resulting in the seizure of drugs and more than £35,000 in cash.

The operations were conducted at multiple properties in Appleby, Kendal, Penrith and Barrow as part of a targeted crackdown on drug-related crime. The action formed part of an ongoing initiative aimed at disrupting illegal drug networks in local communities.

During the raids, officers recovered substantial quantities of illegal substances, including more than 200 grams of cocaine and over 300 grams of cannabis, along with large sums of cash believed to be linked to criminal activity.

One of those arrested, a 20-year-old man from Barrow, has been charged with multiple offences including possession with intent to supply both cocaine and cannabis, as well as possession of criminal property. He has appeared in court and is due to face further proceedings later this month.

The remaining suspects have either been released under investigation or dealt with through out-of-court measures such as cautions.

Police have said they will continue to act on intelligence relating to drug dealing and are urging members of the public to report any suspicious activity in their communities.
